It is based on “Two Factor Authentication”, meaning the combination of something which you have and something which you know. The first component is a cell phone which can generate a unique token for each transaction or login, and the second one is to know the username and password needed to enter the system you wish to use.

As it is based on tokens, a physical device (such as a keyring, card, etc.) is unnecessary, being replaced by an application which runs in the user’s own cell phone.

It has multiple advantages, such as its lower costs and higher user-friendliness for the customer, who has no need to carry an additional device.

Besides, it is much safer than traditional token-based systems, since the validation process can be carried out in real time by encrypted communication between the customer’s application and the data server (GPRS/UTMS/EDGE/3G, etc), or by SMS.
It eliminates the need to use Capex; this is, investing in keyrings, cards or other devices, both for the initial use as well as its renewal as a result of loss or accident, and also has a much lower Opex or operative cost than most systems in the market.
It can be used to cover any kind of bank service: IVR, POS, ATM, Web, Wap, Movil, etc.

GTI provides the Customer application, which can run on any cell phone available on the market; and the Server application which runs on Windows environment..

How it Works

Example of Website access control,, www.globaltechinv.com/keymaker

  1. The bank registers the authorized customers individually or by batch only once and gives them their username and password

  2. Each time the customer wishes to use the system he enters a Webpage which requires his username and password.

  3. In the online mode, the Keymaker server sends the customer’s cell phone a single token by encrypted data or SMS, to be used in that session only. In the stand alone or offline mode, the application generates the token independently and autonomously.

  4. The customer then enters the token and, if the information is correct, can proceed to use the bank’s services.
